The bottom of the barrel - The St. Louis Rams
The St. Louis Rams are looking at another dreadful season in 09′. They are one of the worst teams in the NFL - just a few short years ago the Rams were one of the most exciting teams in the history of the league.
I suppose one could point to their 9-7 loss at Washington as a sign that things are on the verge of improving, one fact remains. No telling how Washington is though and they may even be a weak team this year.
The St. Louis fans are good fans that will support a team - they don’t deserve the product that is being produced on the field. I can only imagine what it would be like, but thankfully I’m not a Rams fan.
The Rams have one of worst offenses in the NFL - not much is expected fort the Rams in 09′. Steven Jackson is the only player who can get something going.
Marc Bulger has a few good seasons with the Rams - in 06′ Bulger threw for over 4,000 yards and 24 touchdown passes with only 8 interceptions. The last two seasons for Bulger have been less then stellar with more interceptions then touchdown passes.
The only player the Rams have worth the price of a ticket is RB Steven Jackson. Jackson is averaging nearly 5 yards per rushing attempt in 09′. Jackson’s best season up to this date was in 06′ when he rushed for over 1,500 yards and- touchdowns.
It’s safe to say the Rams will get a high draft pick in the 10′ draft. One could only wonder where the Rams should begin in rebuilding. Perhaps a young quarterback to build the franchise around. Steven Jackson isn’t getting any younger and it’s a shame his career is being wasted on a very bad team.
The Rams must draft well in the 10′ draft if they expect to a respectable team once the 10′ season comes. When a team has so many problems, one, two, or even three high draft picks won’t make the difference. The Rams fans hope the front office makes very smart decisions in the upcoming years so the Rams don’t turn into the Detroit Lions of the NFC West.
